Dr. Akgün received his B/Sc. degree in electronics and telecommunication engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Turkey in 2002. He was awarded an M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Ohio State University, the USA in 2004 and the PhD degree in microelectronics from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 2009. He worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Lund University, Sweden until March 2010. He worked as an assistant professor at Ozyegin University, Turkey between 2011 and 2012.
During his career, he participated in both research oriented and industry sponsored projects in the analogue/mixed-signal, RFIC and digital domains. He has published extensively in refereed journals and conferences.
Dr. Akgün is an analog, digital and mixed-signal integrated circuit design engineer/researcher with an experience of 14 years. He is an expert on ultra-low energy, sub-threshold and asynchronous digital circuit design, characterization and implementation.
